The Fiesta 2001
Since the last time we has been in Les-Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in 1997, different changes
occured:
The restaurants closed early in the evening, some stayed closed completely, same for
different shops. Also the musicans didn't play in the cafés and restaurants, but they had
their place around the church.
Urs Karpatz came late and they played not so often and not so long into the evening.
But we had a lot of fun and enjoyed a lot of fine music.
Some of us had the chance to see / listen Manitas de Plata performing in "Chez Félibre"
just beside the church.
Also some new groups performed and one sold their CD there ( Los Cortes ).
An other artist playing very well was a so called Mario, performing with an Roumanian violonist,
also with Urs Karpatz - an adventure !

An unknown group with a lot of members, playing often and with much enthousiasm, allways lot of people around
This young lady was a "real" Sara, very accepted by the gipsy women and children, she
teached dancing to the youngsters
